Blake's Birth Story
Well, I want to post my birth story but I think it will take me a while to get around to it. In the meantime, this is what Blake wrote in the journal at the Birth and Women's Center:
January 26th, 2004
Sarah Ruth Jones
6lbs. 2oz.
Louisa’s water broke at 2:45PM. By 3:40 we were at the birth center.
Contractions, “climbing hills”, breathing, strength.
Then she got in the tub, the tide turned, transition.
A walk around the room, sit on the ball, can't help it she’s got to push now.
On the bed, this is tough, it hurts but there is lots of help and support.
Strong contractions, doubt, encouragement.
I can see the head...a few more pushes and I catch my daughter!
Joy, wonder, amazement, praise. Ruthie, our first is born at 9:31PM.
Such a short labor!
Thanks to Brenda, Jean, Reveau, Cherie, the rest of the staff at the Birth and Women's Center, and to Sharon.
God Bless
Written by a deeply moved new father around 3:00AM.

Is this the Blake that I know? Your husband Blake? I am touched by his words. And wow, that he wrote it down. I think he's a keeper :)
